What is Pilonidal Sinus(PNS)?



The inwards growth of hair, most commonly in the gluteal cleft, between the buttocks at the lowermost region of the back causes a small hole or tunnel in the skin, which may be filled with pus or fluid. It can cause severe pain and can often become infected.


It can occus in axilla, umbalicous or between the finger webs, especially in people with excess hair on the body.
